Is there anything specific we can improve on?
Even though we provided the DJ with specific directions to the venue, he did not follow them. He didn't call for help either. It took me calling him twice to make sure he arrived. It took about 20 minutes via cell phone to navigate him step by step where he needed to be. As a result he was still setting up at start time.
Additional comments or suggestions?
Despite a rough start, he did stay later (I think to make up the time). He also did great job reading the crowd. Having him there made the event - it wouldn't have been the same without the music.
